Abstract:
To provide a turret tool rest having a means which can easily prevent the unnecessary free rotation of a turret.
When a direct operating shaft is moved toward a turret head side by the drive of a servo motor, a movable coupling element 37 provided at the turret starts to leave from a fixed coupling element 36 fixed to the support. During a period in which the movable coupling element 37 is in engagement state with the fixed coupling element 36, a clutch gear 34 in a clutch material 24 is engaged with a clutch gear 33. Accordingly, even if the coupling element 37 is brought into an unengaged state with the coupling element 36, the free rotation of the turret can be prevented by the engagement of the clutch gear 33 with the clutch gear 34.
