Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an unwoven fabric, for reinforcing a filter, which maintains the properties of thickness and hardness of a reinforcing material and also actives a low pressure loss and long life.
CONSTITUTION: The unwoven fabric F for reinforcing a filter is composed of a thermoplastic fiber with a fiber diameter of 25 to 50μm. The number of fibers having the ratio DT/DL of 0.80 to 1.20 between the diameter DT, in the thickness direction of the unwoven cloth, of a fiber (f) cross section in the vertical cross section of the longitudinal direction of the unwoven fabric and the diameter DL in the longitudinal direction of the unwoven fabric, is equivalent to at least, 60% of the total number of fiber in the vertical cross section. In addition, the pressure loss per 1mm thickness of the unwoven fabric is at most 0.8mmAq at air speed of 10cm/s. Further, the constituent fiber of the unwoven fabric is a conjugate core-and-sheath fiber. The unwoven fabric should preferably contain a phosphorus-based flame retardant and a metal antibacterial agent selected from the group consisting of silver, copper and zinc.
