Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare an immunosuppressant comprising a transglutaminase as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION: This immunosuppressant comprises a transglutaminase having inhibiting actions on the secretion of oxygen radicals, preferably a factor XIII as an active ingredient in an amount of 52.5-225,000 units based on the dose at a time (75 kg body weight). The drug is useful for treating and preventing a graft rejection crisis, disorders in a placenta/trophoblast layer and a graft versus host reaction, treating autoimmune diseases, treating a pathological process associated with an increase in production of the oxygen radicals and treating and preventing tissue disorders during and after acute reperfusion and suppressing a monocyte/macrophage system. The transglutaminase and a plasminogen activator inhibitor are preferably used in combination.
