PURPOSE: To improve the varnish impregnating properties and enhance a dimenstional stability, etc. of a laminate, by making a base material for laminate pass through the press rolls in the condition of being immersed in the varnish within a varnish tank, then moving it contacting squeeze rolls.

CONSTITUTION: After the tension of a base material for laminate 1 is adjusted by the quantity of surface material and the number of rotation of a brake roll 2, it is passed through a plurality of press rolls 4, 4', 4" in the condition of being immersed in a varnish within a varnish tank 3, the air in the base material is exchanged with the varnish, the base material is enough impregnated with the varnish and the impregnation amount of the varnish is adjusted by squeeze rolls 5. The arrangement of the press rolls in the varnish tank may be any of a horizontal, vertical, inclined type, etc. and does not be specified particularly. The condition used for the manufacture of an ordinary prepreg is used on drying, take-up, cutting, etc. of the base material impregnated with the varnish.
