Abstract:

To increase an absorption amount of a collision load at the time of rear-end collision while restraining the total length of an automobile from getting longer and longer in a vehicle body structure of the automobile.

The vehicle body structure of the automobile is equipped with a rear cross member 2A for connecting a rear side member 1, a body side bar 10 connected to the rear cross member 2A through a connecting bar 16, a rear side door 8 positioned in front of the body side bar 10, and a center pillar 9 positioned in front of the rear side door 8. A side door bar 20 is provided on the rear side door 8, and the side door bar 20 transmits the load to the vehicle front direction from the body side bar 10 to the center pillar 9. Therefore, the collision load input to the rear end cross member 2A in the rear-end collision is transmitted from the rear end cross member 2A to the rear side member 2A, and also transmitted to the center pillar 9 through the connecting bar 16, the body side bar 10 and the side door bar 20.
