Abstract:

To positively prevent damage to be caused by the frictional heat of a friction engagement device.

During shifting, an end absorbed duty estimation processing part 22 estimates the predicted value of the absorbed duty at the end of an inertia phase on the basis of the present absorbed duty computed by an absorbed duty acquisition processing part 18 and the progress degree of the inertia phase detected by a progress degree detecting part 20. When the estimated absorbed duty at the end of the inertia phase exceeds a predetermined specified value, a variable speed control part 24 changes a control state by lowering engine torque to suppress the generation itself of frictional heat, strengthening a clutch engaging force to quicken the progress of speed change, making a correction to shorten target speed change time in inertia phase control, or the like.
