Abstract:
To easily improve the performance of a vehicle control system after a vehicle is shipped.SOLUTION: A vehicle control system 1 includes an HCU 2 and an extension module 3 mounted on a vehicle. The HCU 2 includes a control unit 12, a communication circuit 26, and a casing 11. The extension module 3 includes a control unit 32, a communication circuit 46, and a flash ROM 44. The flash ROM 44 stores a function extension application program. Through data communication, the control unit 32 acquires, from the HCU 2, vehicle configuration information, about a preset item, corresponding to the vehicle. The control unit 32 selects, from among function extension application programs, a function extension application program that can be used at the extension module 3 on the basis of the acquired vehicle configuration information. Upon installing the selected function extension application program, the control unit 32 sets the program to an executable state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
