PURPOSE: To make an on-vehicle machine effective only when a radio wave for toll reception of a toll road is received with respect to the on-vehicle machine for toll reception which uses radio.
CONSTITUTION: The on-vehicle machine 1 is equipped with a CPU 2, a memory 3, an interface circuit 4, a detecting circuit 5, a transmitting circuit 9, a battery 10, and an antenna 11 and the detecting circuit 5 has comparing circuits (1) 6 and (2) 7, and a circuit 8. A specific threshold value L1 of radio wave intensity is set for the comparing circuit (1) 6 and L2 is set for the comparing circuit (2) 7 (L2>L1). When the difference between time t1 and time t2 as the threshold values is within a specific range at the time of radio wave reception, the radio wave is regarded as the radio wave for toll reception and a wake-up signal 13 outputted to the CPU 2 to make the functions of the on-vehicle machine 1 effective, so malfunction due to portable telephone, etc., and the consumption of a battery 10 are prevented.
