To provide a motor torque controller for a vehicle which suppresses shocks caused by vehicle's acceleration and deceleration when a mode is switched, while attaining target driving force by presuming the driving force using a disturbance observer.
In the hybrid vehicle running with motive power transmitted to tires through a transmission having a function to switch between a first mode and a second mode of different kinds by tightening or release of a friction element while using at least one motor generator as a power source, the motor torque controller is constituted so that a motor torque control means may be provided, wherein at the first mode or the second mode, the driving force is presumed by the disturbance observer, and then target motor torque to make no deviation between the target driving force and a presumed driving force value is applied by feedback driving force control. At a transient time of a mode transition between the first mode and the second mode, the target motor torque to obtain target vehicle's acceleration corresponding to acceleration at starting mode switching is applied by feedforward acceleration control.
