To reproduce sound information of received radio wave at a state that there is no noise, etc. in switching even when a receiving frequency is switched in a vehicular radio receiver having functions for recording the sound information and reproducing the sound information at optional time.

The vehicular radio receiver prevents that there is a period that the noise is heard and no sound is performed by silence in reproduction since the vehicular radio receiver, when a broadcasting station to be received (the frequency of the received radio wave) is switched, discriminates whether the switching is manually or automatically performed and when the switching is manually performed, starts reproduction at termination of the switching of the broadcasting station in reproduction of the sound information recorded in a storage means.
