Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a vessel for a titled plant having excellent resistance to corrosion and high-temp. oxidation by forming a build-up welded layer of a steel contg. a specific amt. of Cr and/or Mo on the inside surface of the vessel.

CONSTITUTION: A weld metallic layer consisting of the steel contg. ≥17wt% in total one of Cr and Mo at least or both thereof is formed by build-up welding on the inside surface of a vessel. Such vessel excels remarkably in the resistance to corrosion and high-temp. oxidation as compared to the case when the rolled material of the steel contg. the same total amt. of Cr and Mo is lined to the vessel. The vessel contributes therefore to considerable extension in the life of a vessel for a plant for liquefying coal or producing regenerated coal and to an improvement in the safety and reliability of such plant.
