Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a small, lightweight, inexpensive vibration-damping material which is effective in controlling low-frequency vibrations and has a high degree of freedom of design.
CONSTITUTION: This material is made of a viscoelastic foam obtained by vulcanizing and foaming a viscous rubber mixture comprising 100 pts.wt. rubber, 10-200 pts.wt. softener, 5-300 pts.wt. inorganic and/or organic filler, an organic foaming agent, and a vulcanizing agent. The foam has a density of 0.2g/cm3 or lower, and open cells coexist with closed cells.
