To provide a video picture processor by which a high-quality video picture can be obtained by automatically switching between a three-dimentional Y/C separation and a three-dimentional noise reduction as well as increasing the effect of memory saving.
There is provided a video picture processor equipped with a tuner 1, an AGC amplifier 2, an NTSC demodulator, an A/D converter 4, a video picture quality improvement block 5, and a video processing block 6. In the video picture processor, video signal quality which is input is detected based on an AGC control signal level and the switching between the three-dimentional Y/C separation and the three-dimentional noise reduction is automatically performed depending on the level. A video memory 8 used for the three-dimentional Y/C separation and the three-dimentional noise reduction is made common and is built up with a frame memory.
