Title:
VIDEO RECORDER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3834861
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption, to suppress a temperature rise and to enhance the shock resistance performance.
SOLUTION: A video signal outputted from a camera signal processing circuit 5 is given to an encoder/decoder 9, in which each block is compressed and the result is stored in a buffer memory 13, compressed data for each block stored in the buffer memory 13 are stored in an HDD 15 by bringing the HDD 15 into a recording state for only the period required to record the compressed data to the HDD 15, and by bringing the HDD 15 into a pause state for the other period by means of an operation control means, so that the recording operating period requiring much power consumption of the HDD 15 is reduced, thereby reducing the power consumption and temperature rise.
