Title:
VIDEO-SIGNAL PROCESSOR, VIDEO-SIGNAL PROCESSING METHOD, PROGRAM, AND DISPLAY DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2009152678
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a video signal processor that determines a region, where gradation is adjusted, on the basis of an inputted video signal so as to improve the contrast by selectively adjusting gradation on the basis of the determination result, a video signal processing method, a program, and a display device.

The video-signal processor is provided with an isolated-region detecting part for determining an isolated region, being a region occupying a percentage equal to or less than a prescribed percentage of all display regions and having a luminance difference exceeding a prescribed value, with respect to a peripheral region, on the basis of a video signal; a high-saturation region detecting part for determining a high-saturation region, being a region occupying a percentage exceeding the prescribed percentage of all display regions and having saturation exceeding a prescribed value, on the basis of the video signal; an adjustment-signal generating part for generating an adjustment signal for each pixel, on the basis of an isolated-region signal, outputted from the isolated-region detecting part and showing the isolated region; a high-saturation region signal outputted from the high-saturation region detecting part and showing the high-saturation region; and a gradation adjusting part for adjusting gradation of the video signal for each pixel, on the basis of the adjustment signal outputted from the adjustment-signal generating part.
