Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a water-based coating consisting of a specific ratio of specific two kinds of acrylic resins and an aminoplast resin and excellent in workability, retort resistance and adhesion and useful for wet ink.
CONSTITUTION: The coating consists of (A) 40-60 pts.wt. acrylic resin having 6000-15000 weight-average molecular weight and ≥0°C glass transition temperature and obtained by copolymerizing an acrylic acid alkyl ester, etc., having 8-20C alkyl group with acrylic acid ω-hydroxyalkyl ester, etc., having 4-18C primary hydroxyalkyl group, an ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid and other ethylenic unsaturated monomer, (B) 10-20 pts.wt. acrylic resin having 5000-50000 weight-average molecular weight and ≤0°C glass transition temperature and obtained by copolymerizing an N-alkoxymethyl methacrylamide, etc., having 1-6C N-alkoxymethyl group, an ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid and other ethylenic unsaturated monomer and (C) 20-50 pts.wt. aminoplast resin. This coating is obtained by neutralizing a part of the component A and the component B with a base and dissolving and dispersing these components A to C in water.
