To provide a water cutoff treatment method which enables a curing reaction at a relative low temperature and enables not to need a special maintenance such as the exchange or cleaning of a nozzle even after a relatively long stopping time for a water cutoff work.
Provided is the water cutoff method which uses two kinds of main agents and one kind of cross-linking initiator, and in which the first solution comprising one of the main agents and the second solution comprising the other of the main agents and the cross-linking initiator are mixed to prepare a mixture solution, and the mixture solution is used for the water cutoff treatment, characterized in that the cross-linking initiator is sealed in thermally unsealable microcapsules; the mixture solution is coated or injected into a prescribed water stop target position and then thermally treated above a temperature at which the microcapsules are unsealed; the cross-linking reaction of one of the main agents is started with the cross-linking initiator at the temperature at which the microcapsules are unsealed; and the cross-linking reaction of the other of the main agents is started with the cross-linking initiator at a higher temperature than the temperature at which the microcapsules are unsealed.
