To dispense with a tight cover for a power unit in waterproofing a power converter for a railroad vehicle, and eliminate sealing work in mounting the power unit to the power converter.
The figure shows the cross sectional structure of the left half part viewed from the traveling direction of a train. Since the routes 101 to 105 are considered as entering routes of water or dust into an equipment room in this structure, the route 101 can be blocked with packing 141, the route 102 with the right end surface packing 142 (left end surface packing: not shown in Figure), the route 103 with 144, the route 104 with the side cowl packing 17 and the power unit side cowl packing gland 18, and the route 105 with the power unit side cowl packing receiver 19a and the box side packing 20 respectively.
