Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a steel frame structure safe against an earthquake load by forming outer grooves opened on the outside of flanges on the upper and the lower flanges of the tip part of the steel frame beam consisting of a wide flange shape with its flange surfaces directed in the horizontal direction, and performing first layer welding while pushing a removable backing material on these groove parts.
SOLUTION: The welding of upper flange 1a and column member 9 is performed in accordance with drawings (a) to (c). While pushing the removable backing material 18 on the lower side of the groove parts, sealing beads 14 are formed in the flange width direction. After that, the backing material 18 is removed, and face beads 17 are formed on the lower layer of the sealing beads layer 14. Next, a weld metal 19 is laminated on the upper layer of the sealing beads 14. The welding of lower flange 1b and the column member 9 is performed in accordance with drawings (d) and (e). While pushing the removable backing material 18 on the inside of the grooves from the lower side of the groove parts, the sealing beads 14 are formed. After removing the backing material 18, a weld metal layer is laminated on the upper layer of the sealing beads 14.
