To provide a wheel position detector capable of automatically detecting at which position of a vehicle a wheel is mounted, and a tire pressure detector having the same.
The wheel position detector comprises a plurality of transmitters 2 which are provided on a plurality of wheels 5a-5d, and have a wheel rotational angle detection means 22a, a first control unit 23a to prepare a transmission frame, and a transmission unit 23b to transmit the transmission frame at the predetermined transmission timing, and a receiver which is provided on a vehicle body 6 side and has a reception unit 32a to receive the transmission frame and a second control unit 32b to perform the processing of the data obtained from the transmission frame. The first control unit 23a detects the rotational angles of the wheels 5a-5d from the detection signals of the wheel rotational angle detection means 22a, and defines the predetermined transmission timing when the rotational angle reaches the predetermined value. The second control unit 32b specifies on which of the plurality of wheels 5a-5d the transmitter 2 is provided based on the reception intensity of the transmission frame from the transmitter 2.
