Title:
WIRE ELECTRIC DISCHARGE MACHINE FOR DISCRIMINATING WHETHER WORK-PIECE CAN BE ELECTRICALLY DISCHARGED
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2016036896
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire electric discharge machine having a function for discriminating whether a work-piece can be electrically discharged.SOLUTION: A wire electric discharge machine 30 operates a wire electrode 1 in a direction on which the work electrode 1 contacts a work-piece 2 in the state that an application pulse of a constant voltage is periodically or always generated for the wire electrode 1. When an electric conductance of the work-piece 2 is large, an electric current flows between the wire electrode 1 and a pole of the work-piece 2 by contact between the wire electrode 1 and the work-piece 2, lowering of an application voltage is detected, and consequently, it is discriminated that the work-piece 2 comprises a work material which can be electrically discharged. Further, when the electric conductance of the work-piece 2 is small, lowering of the application voltage is not detected, and finally, the wire electrode 1 does not withstand a stress received from the work-piece 2 and breaking of the wire electrode 1 is detected, and consequently, it is discriminated that the work-piece 2 comprises a work material which cannot be electrically discharged.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
