Abstract:
This wire rope inspection device (101) comprises: an excitation unit (10) that applies a magnetic field to a wire rope (W); a detection coil (31) that detects the magnetic flux of the wire rope (W) while moving relatively to the wire rope (W); a projection detection unit (32) that detects a projection portion (Wa) projecting from at least a part of the outer surface of the wire rope (W); and a drive unit (40) that, on the basis of a detection signal from the projection detection unit (32), moves the detection coil (31) in a direction away from the wire rope (W) before the projection portion (Wa) makes contact with the detection coil (31).
