To provide a wire shaped structure which has few defects and is preferably used as a thermoelectric conversion material, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same, a thermoelectric conversion element and Peltier element.

The wire shaped structure includes (a) a metal atom or semimetal atom, (b) a negative ion having electric bipolar moment and (c) an organic compound expressed in a chemical formula 1. The wire shaped structure is manufactured by mixing salt comprised of (a) and (b) with (c).
