To provide a wiring base member and a wiring cover member that have fewer number of components and capable of wiring electric wire cables and optical fiber cables on a ceiling surface, a vertical wall surface, and the like with good workability.

At least a part of the longitudinal direction of a cable insertion opening 11 is formed in a width narrower than the minimum width Wmin of a cable 2 in such ways that, when the cable 2 facing the cable insertion opening 11 is pushed toward a cable storing portion 12, the cable 2 can be pushed into the cable storing portion 12 by the elastic deformation of at least either one of the cable insertion opening peripheral portion of the wiring base member and the external clad of the cable 2 and that, with the cable insertion opening 11 mounted facing downward, the entire cable stored in the cable storing portion 12 can be prevented from coming out of the cable storing portion 12 by its own weight via the cable insertion opening 11.
