To inspect a wiring pattern for defect feeding a long board by making the wiring pattern inspection speed of the board at an inspecting section to synchronize with the relative speed between the board and the inspecting section.
A plurality of wiring patterns 2 are formed in a row at a specified interval in the longitudinal direction on a board 1 and a pair of position correcting marks 7 are stamped to specified positions between respective wring patterns 2 while being arranged at a specified interval such that the line connecting the centers of the pair of position connecting marks 7 will be perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the board 1. Position of the pair of position connecting marks 7 is detected by a correction image detector 18 and the wiring pattern 2 on the board 1 is detected by an image detector 11. Detection speed of the image detector 11 is tuned to the relative speed between the board 1 and the image detector 11.
