To provide a CT system which is suitable for creating absorption CT images and phase contrast images and creates images by keeping a dose load on a patient as low as possible.

In the X-ray CT system for creating tomography type phase contrast images and absorption images, the X-ray CT system is equipped with a fixed stator, a gantry having a first rotor rotating relative to the stator around a shaft of the system, at least one X-ray source detector system which rotates about the patient and the shaft of the system and is disposed on the first rotor, and at least one set of X-ray optical gratings for determining a phase contrast. At least one set of the X-ray optical gratings are disposed to move relative to the first rotor of the gantry.
