PURPOSE: To regenerate a zeolite catalyst at high regeneration efficiency which is employed for hydration reaction of olefins in a liquid phase by bringing the zeolite into contact with an amino compound and then heating in a gas phase under a specified condition.
CONSTITUTION: A zeolite regenerated catalyst is a catalyst obtained by at first bringing a zeolite catalyst which is employed for hydration reaction of olefins in a liquid phase into contact with an amino compound and then bringing the resulting zeolite into contact with a gas containing molecular oxide at 200-600°C. The amino compound has the formula NR1R2R3 (R1, R2, and R3 stand for hydrogen atom, methyl group, ethyl group, or amino group) and among them, NH3 is the optimum. Alcohols are produced by hydration reaction of olefins in a liquid phase while employing the zeolite regenerated catalyst. The regenerated catalyst can be regenerated at high regenerating efficiency by a simple treatment can preferably be employed for hydration reaction of olefins in a liquid phase.
