Abstract:
To provide a fishing reel which can disconnect a clutch easily, stabilize an engagement state of a drive gear and a pinion gear for stably performing a clutch coupling and a clutch winding operation.SOLUTION: A fishing reel of the invention comprises: a drive gear which rotates by a rotation operation of a handle; a spool shaft to which a spool is fitted, which is rotatably supported to the reel body and has an engagement pin protruded to a radial direction; a pinion gear which is parallel to an axial direction of the spool shaft and which has on an end part, an engagement wall part to which the engagement pin contacts and engages in a rotary direction; and a clutch mechanism for engaging and detaching the engagement wall part of the pinion gear to the engagement pin of the spool shaft for switching the spool state between a power transmission state (on) and a power interruption state (off). In a state in which a torsion angle β of the drive gear and the pinion gear is set to 5°≤β≤25° and a pressure angle α is set to 3°≤α≤16° in an engagement condition, on/off of power transmission of the clutch mechanism is controlled.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
