PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image enlargement device capable of enlarging an image, while suppressing the deterioration of an image quality of the peripheral part.SOLUTION: An image enlargement device is configured to include virtual pixel data generation means 1; normal pixel data generation means 2; peripheral pixel data generation means 3; and enlargement image generation means 4. The virtual pixel data generation means 1 calculates virtual pixel data based on a first pixel of the screen outer most periphery and a second pixel adjacent to the first pixel from among the input image data. The normal pixel data generation means 2 interpolates the pixel data set between adjacent pixels so as to be calculated as normal pixel data when the pixel other than the predetermined peripheral part pixel of the enlargement image is generated. The peripheral pixel data generation means 3 interpolates the pixel data set between the first pixel and the virtual pixel so as to be calculated as the peripheral pixel data when the predetermined peripheral pixel of the enlargement image is generated. The enlargement image generation means 4 generates and outputs the enlargement image based on the normal pixel data and the peripheral pixel data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
