Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizer having excellent durability.SOLUTION: A polarizer is composed of a resin film containing a boric acid. A low density part with lower concentration of the boric acid than the other parts is formed at an end part of the resin film. Further, the low density part includes a concentration gradient with less boric acid concentration as going outward in a surface direction. Further, the low density part is formed at a location 50 μm or more inward in the surface direction from the end face of the resin film. Still further, the low density part is formed at an end part in an absorption axis direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
