Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide the titled lubricant containing a specific fluorine-containing polyether as a main component and capable of imparting a magnetic recording material with high durability without using a surface-lubricant. CONSTITUTION:The objective lubricant contains a fluorine-containing polyether having a recurring unit of formula (l and n are integer of >=0; m is integer of >=1; 2<=l+m+n<=200) as a main component. Usually 0.1-5wt.% of the lubricant is mixed with magnetic powder, a binder and a solvent. etc., to prepare a magnetic paint, which is applied to a base for magnetic recording medium to obtain a magnetic layer.
