Abstract:
To provide a printer that can remedy image quality defects such as streaks and uneven brightness.SOLUTION: A printer includes a carriage and a control unit. The control unit makes a discharge head discharge ink droplets, and imparts energy to the ink droplets impacted on a printed medium using energy imparting means, while moving the carriage in a main scanning direction, in order to form a dot connection part in which a plurality of impacted ink droplets is connected and extend to harden in the main scanning direction. Further, the control unit controls the discharge head and the energy imparting means while moving the carriage in the main scanning direction, in order to form a fragmented dot composed of a single ink droplet having hardened at a position adjacent to or overlapping with the dot connection part in the main scanning direction, or to form a fragmented dot connection part which is adjacent to or overlapping with the dot connection part in the main scanning direction and in which a plurality of ink droplets is connected and extend to harden in a sub scanning direction orthogonal to the main scanning direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
