Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tri-stage actuated disk drive suspension having pseudo feature integrally constructed on a trace gimbal to obtain higher servo bandwidth.SOLUTION: A dual stage actuated suspension 10 has a first microactuator on a trace gimbal assembly (TGA), and a pseudo feature located laterally on the microactuator. The pseudo feature 16 is formed integrally with the TGA from at least one of the base metal layer, insulative layer, and conductive layer that make up the TGA. The pseudo feature 16 helps to balance the suspension. The suspension optionally has a second microactuator 14 located proximal of the first microactuator in order to perform coarser positioning than the first microactuator, such that the suspension becomes a tri-stage actuated suspension 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
