Abstract:
This abnormality detection method detects an abnormality in a battery pack having a plurality of power storage elements with an abnormality detection device. Each of the plurality of power storage elements includes lithium iron phosphate and a lithium transition metal oxide, which is capable of occluding and releasing lithium ions in a higher potential range than the lithium iron phosphate, as a positive electrode active material, and the ratio of the charge electricity quantity based on the total amount of the lithium transition metal oxide to the charge electricity quantity based on the total amount of the positive electrode active material in the charge/discharge range in which the power storage element is used is 5% or more. The abnormality detection device acquires the voltage of each of the plurality of power storage elements in the vicinity of the charging end point in the charge/discharge range in which the power storage element is used, and uses the acquired voltage of the plurality of power storage elements to detect an abnormality of the battery pack.
