There are disclosed an access network system and others capable of reducing the load on an connection authentication to an access network by dividing authentication into an authentication of connection to the access network and an authentication of connection to an external IP network. The access network system includes: a first base station device (104a) connected to a mobile terminal (101), receiving a first authentication request from the mobile terminal, transmitting the first authentication request to an authentication device (102), and receiving a first authentication result from the authentication device; and a second base station device (104b) connected to a mobile terminal after the mobile terminal is connected to the base station device and the mobile terminal has moved, receiving a second authentication request including an identifier of the first base station from the mobile terminal, and transmitting the second authentication request to the first base station. Upon reception of the second authentication request, the first base station device transmits the fist authentication result to the second base station device.
