Abstract:
Apparatus for calculating spatial sum of products of data on a plurality of picture elements stored in a frame memory by using load coefficients on N rows and N columns stored in a coefficient memory. The result of calculation of picture element data of a row of the frame memory and a load coefficient of a row, is added to the contents of shift registers corresponding to the picture elements. This operation is repeated N times for different rows of the frame memory and for different load coefficients. Namely, the calculation of spatial sums of products is carried out at high speeds using a reduced number of multipliers.
