Abstract:

The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). Channel quality indicator (CQI) and precoding feedback from a terminal includes receiving reference signals from a base station, generating channel information based on the reference signals, and, transmitting the channel information. The channel information comprises at least one of a Channel quality indicator (CQI), a first vertical-precoding matrix indicator (V-PMI) and a first horizontal-precoding matrix indicator (H-PMI).
