Abstract:
Disclosed are an apparatus and method for estimating an output of a secondary battery comprising a blended positive electrode material. The apparatus according to the present invention estimates an output of a secondary battery comprising a blended positive electrode material in which at least a first positive electrode material and a second positive electrode material are blended, the apparatus comprising: a discharge means for discharging the secondary battery in conditions of a plurality of discharge rates (c-rate) different from each other; a sensor means for measuring a plurality of final discharge voltages (Vf) corresponding to the conditions of the plurality of discharge rates; and a control means for approximating the correlation between the plurality of discharge rates and the plurality of final discharge voltages in a two-dimensional linear equation, calculating the maximum discharge rate (Cmax) of the secondary battery corresponding to the minimum discharge voltage (Vmin) using the linear equation, and estimating the maximum output (Pmax) of the secondary battery from the calculated maximum discharge rate.
