Abstract:
Provided are an autofocus system, an endoscope system, and a control method, all of which make it possible to improve AF precision while preventing image quality deterioration even when using a spatial separation EDOF optical system and a phase-contrast pixel for AF. In this autofocus system, a processor calculates an AF evaluation value and a degree of reliability for phase-contrast signals outputted from phase-contrast pixels 71 on the basis of the phase contrast signals, and a drive unit is driven in accordance with the degree of reliability and AF evaluation value so as to bring the focus state of the optical system into focus.
