Abstract:
Disclosed is a brake control device that is not readily susceptible to road surface conditions, tire wear states, front wheel slippage states, the driver's actions, and the like, and that can more reliably detect floating of the rear wheel. The brake control device, which controls the front wheel antilock braking system for the front wheel brake of a two-wheeled vehicle, determines whether the aforementioned front wheel brake is braking with greater than a prescribed braking force. If it is determined that braking is greater than the aforementioned prescribed braking force, whether the aforementioned rear wheel is floating is determined according to the rear wheel slippage state. If it is determined that the aforementioned rear wheel is floating, the aforementioned front wheel antilock braking system is activated.
