Abstract:
In this brake device 10 for a vehicle, during normal operation, wheel pressure for vehicle wheels is generated by an electric-powered cylinder 23 that generates wheel pressure using the motive power of an electric motor 233, and when the electric-powered cylinder 23 is operating abnormally, wheel pressure for the vehicle wheels is generated by a master cylinder 22, a first assisting device 31, and a second assisting device 32. The electric-powered cylinder 23 is connected to a reservoir tank 21 through a relief fluid passage 29 in which a normally-closed electromagnetic valve 291 is installed. When the electric-powered cylinder 23 is operating abnormally, the electromagnetic valve 291 opens and the relief fluid passage 29 is opened.
