Abstract:
A communication method and apparatus, relating to the technical field of communications, and solving the problem of large communication overheads when a user plane network element forwards a clock synchronization message. The specific solution is: a first user plane network element obtains a first clock synchronization message, obtains state information of a first session from a second user plane network element, and sends the state information of the first session to a control plane network element; thereafter, the first user plane network element receives a first forwarding rule from the control plane network element, and processes the first clock synchronization message according to the first forwarding rule, the first forwarding rule being associated with the state information of the first session.
