Abstract:
Provided are a strategy determining method and a communication apparatus. The method may comprise: a first network element receiving a request message from a second network element, wherein the request message comprises information of a service chain required by an application; and the first network element formulating a service chain strategy for the application according to the information of the service chain required by the application, and sending, to a third network element, the service chain strategy corresponding to the application. In this way, when it is determined that an application value-added service needs to be provided, a second network element can be informed of relevant information of a required service chain in a request message, such that the second network element can directly formulate a service chain strategy according to the information of the required service chain, and a rapid response can thus be made to the rapidly changing requirements of a service chain.
