Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a composition which is capable of producing an optically anisotropic layer that has excellent ultraviolet absorption properties and excellent orientation by a single application process; a method for producing an optical film; an optically anisotropic layer; a circularly polarizing plate; and a display device. A composition according to the present invention contains a compound A which comprises a maldistributive group, while having a maximum absorption wavelength within a wavelength range of 320 to 400 nm, and a liquid crystal compound B which comprises a polymerizable compound; and the content of the compound A relative to the content of the liquid crystal compound B is 3 to 100% by mass.
