Abstract:
A conductive foamed material of low cost that exhibits uniform conductivity and is strikingly improved with respect to changing of conductivity by temperature and humidity. In particular, a conductive foamed material produced by adding to an epichlorohydrin rubber a rubber capable of co-crosslinking with the epichlorohydrin rubber, a foaming agent and an ionic compound and foaming the mixture; or a conductive foamed material produced by foaming so as to have properties such as a hardness of 15 to 50, a volume resistivity value of 1×104 to 1×1010 &ohm ·cm and an environmental dependency (formula: log Rl - log Rh) of -1.0 to 2.0. There is further provided a process for producing the conductive foamed material, comprising milling an epichlorohydrin rubber with an ionic compound, further milling the mixture with additives and effecting foaming thereof.
