Abstract:
A composition capable of realizing a surgery of low invasiveness in the ophthalmologic field; and use thereof. There is provided a conjunctival filtration bleb forming agent which is comprised of a water-insoluble biocompatible composition from a polyanionic polysaccharide, and provided a method of using this conjunctival filtration bleb forming agent to form a filtration bleb between the conjunctiva and the sclera after filtration surgery for glaucoma. Further, there is provided a method of filtration bleb formation characterized in that in the filtration surgery for glaucoma, the conjunctival filtration bleb forming agent is stationed between the conjunctiva and the sclera. Still further, there is provided a pterygium recurrence preventive comprised of a water-insoluble biocompatible composition from a polyanionic polysaccharide; and provided a method of pterygium treatment characterized in that in the excision of pterygium, the above recurrence preventive is stationed between the conjunctival stump and the cornea.
