Abstract:
This cutting tool is provided with a shaft part and a sensor unit that is arranged so as to surround a portion of the shaft part in the longitudinal direction. The sensor unit includes: a sensor module provided with a plurality of first sensors that detect a first physical quantity of the shaft part, a substrate that is electrically connected with the first sensors, and a wireless communication unit that is electrically connected with the substrate and transmits to the outside a signal including information of the first physical quantity detected by the first sensors; and a case for housing the sensor module. A region of the shaft part surrounded by the sensor unit includes a first region, which has a 4n-gon shape when viewed along the direction of the rotary axis. n is a natural number of 2 or higher. Among the outer peripheral surfaces of the first region that correspond to the sides of the 4n-gon shape when viewed along the direction of the rotary axis, the plurality of first sensors are arranged on at least two of the outer peripheral surfaces of the first region that have perpendicular lines therefrom passing through the rotary axis and forming an angle of 90°.
