Abstract:
A ship steering assistance device (1) comprises a ship data acquisition unit (11), a zone size acquisition unit (41), and a display data generation unit (71). The ship data acquisition unit (11) acquires at least position information and instantaneous ship speed vectors for any other ship. The zone size acquisition unit (41) utilizes a parameter (maximum ship speed error probability of the other ship) for evaluating at least the degree of a variation in orientation of a plurality of instantaneous ship speed vectors acquired for the other ship so as to acquire the size of an OZT zone where the subject ship may collide with the other ship in the future. The display data generation unit (71) utilizes the calculated size of the zone to generate display data for displaying the OZT.
