Abstract:
Provided is an electric power-assisted bicycle capable of suppressing the increase of manufacturing cost and the reduction of operability to the minimum while reducing the labor required when walking the bicycle and enabling the magnitude of an auxiliary driving force and the assist rate of the auxiliary driving force to be changed during running. The electric power-assisted bicycle includes a determination unit (18) for determining whether the bicycle is in a walking state or in a running state, a manual switch (14) commonly used for walking the bicycle and adjusting the auxiliary driving force, and a control unit (13). This configuration makes it possible for the common or single manual switch (14) to be used for both walking the bicycle and adjusting the auxiliary driving force and to be disposed in a place where the operability thereof is excellent.
