Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a model animal characterized by being spontaneously anemic. More specifically, the present invention pertains to: a transgenic non-human mammal characterized by spontaneous anemia accompanying a post-natal decrease in production of erythropoietin (Epo); Epo-producing cells prepared from the transgenic non-human mammal; and a method for screening the Epo-producing cells.
